Your Role:

Proactively drive store performance across all departments with creative flair

  • Ensure delivery of the brand is in line with all visual merchandising guidelines
  • Development of your people as ‘Stars of the Future’

  • Promote compliance within the team to adhere to company policies and procedures
  • Maximise sales and product availability whilst controlling costs

  • £19k – £21k basic – subject to location and experience

Technologist (Footwear) (9022/FF)

Leicestershire

A leading footwear supplier is looking to recruit within their technical department. If you have solid technical ability and have a proven track record of working with High Street retailers then I want to speak to you.

Technologist (Footwear)– The Role:

  • Maintain and improve the quality of incoming products into the warehouse and carry out quality tests.
  • Assessing production processes, e.g. last assessment, heat/time dwell, pressure of machines, sole preparation system.
  • Assess footwear ranges prior to production, advising on any necessary improvements to design, construction and fit.
  • Conduct extensive factory audits and effect change where required.
  • To form a solid working relationship with the production teams.
  • Analyse worn returns and implement any improvement which may be gathered from this process.

Technologist (Footwear) The Person:

  • Experience of working with womens footwear is essential.
  • A successful candidate must be certified in either footwear or textile testing.
  • Have a strong background of working with High Street retailers or suppliers.
  • Prior experience of setting up new processes and analysing there success and impact on the business.
  • It is essential that you are a strong and clear communicator who has the ability to work with overseas production bases.
  • The ability to work under their own initiative, and part of a team.
  • A background in a similar role is desirable.

Footwear & Plastics Technicians

Our client is an Orthotics Manufacturer based in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire that is currently going through a period of growth. Due to this growth they are looking for people with footwear and plastics manufacturing skills to enhance their team. We would like to speak to anyone with skills in these sectors, but we would particularly like to hear from anyone with the following skills:

As the Footwear Technician your duties will be to:

  • Manufacture bespoke last and casts;
  • Hand lasting;
  • Model making;
  • Building up of lasts with cork to specification;
  • Sole maker, to include adapting soles to specific requirements;
  • Alteration of footwear after fitting;
  • Alteration of lasts using grindery machinery.

To be successful as a Footwear Technician you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Must have experience in the following areas –
    • Engineering;
    • Wood working;
    • Use of hand grinding machines;
    • Use of Lathes;
  • Outstanding hand / eye coordination;
  • Precise measuring skills;
  • Modelling skills;
  • Must have previous experience of operating manufacturing machinery;
  • Be able to read clinical orders accurately.

As the Plastics Technician your duties will include:

  • Rectification of plaster casts;
  • Moulding plastic;
  • Trimming and buffing plastic to meet order specifications.

To be a successful Plastics Technician you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Must have previous experience of operating manufacturing machinery;
  • Must have experience in the following areas;
    • Engineering;
    • Wood working;
    • Use of hand grinding machines;
    • Use of Lathes;
  • Outstanding hand / eye coordination;
  • Excellent eye for detail;
  • Precise measuring skills;
  • Modelling skills;
  • Be able to read clinical orders accurately.

The working hours will be – Monday – Thursday 07:30 – 16:30 and Friday 07:30 – 12:30. In return you will receive a competitive salary dependent on your experience plus 25 days holiday.
