Why Men Suck Shoes? El Topo Secrete Reveal After 45 Years

El Topo, one of most influenced film made by Chilean film director Alejandro Jodorowsky  in 1970s. Many greatest men influenced and declare themselves as a fan of El Topo including directors David Lynch, Russell Roberts and Samuel Fuller; video game writer and director Suda 51; actors Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper; comedians The Mighty Boosh and Patton Oswalt; and performers Bob Dylan, Roger Waters, Marilyn Manson, Jarvis Cocker, Peter Gabriel, George Harrison and John Lennon. Gabriel has claimed that this movie was an inspiration for the classic Genesis concept album, The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway. John Barham re-recorded the score for release on Apple Records at the request of John Lennon. Suda 51 cited El Topo as a key inspiration for his game No More Heroes. Gore Verbinski cited it as an influence on Rango.

But here is what, the film consist of two parts. The first half resembles a western; albeit a surreal one. The second is a love story of redemption and rebirth.

In surreal part Jodorowsky presented various surreal figures. All of them based upon slavery. But what he demonstrated most things happening practically.

In first part El Topo come across a town whose inhabitants have been slaughtered, and El Topo hunts down and kills the perpetrators and their leader, a fat balding Colonel. This Colonel kept many slave among them a Shoe Fetishist also seen.

As we saw on that scene a guard holds couples of shoe particularly women’s shoe in a raw and at sudden he start to smell them and suck them with a great deal of passion.

This scene perfectly indicated Shoe Fetishism. We know that Shoe fetishism is the attribution of attractive sexual qualities to shoes or other footwear as a matter of sexual preference, or an alternative or complement to a relationship with a partner. Later on we also see that they are maniac and paraphilia over lady/woman.

Jodorowsky made a muster piece no doubt. But it’s a huge mindset how can a director present something with completely different view. And we must agree that he is the first who brings Shoe Fetishism scenario in main stream media.
